Planning for Lindbergh-Armour

Atlanta City Design identifies the Lindbergh- Armour area as an emerging hub in northeast Atlanta with great potential to support a growing, diverse community with housing and infrastructure built for everyone. To ensure the vision for the Lindbergh-Armour area is realized, the City of Atlanta and MARTA have partnered to create a framework plan that will build a sense of identity and integrate planning for transit, trails, ecology, and housing. This planning process will deliver an equity-focused community plan that strengthens access to jobs, affordable housing, commerce, and services, all while elevating the Lindbergh-Armour community.
Designing for People in Nature
The Lindbergh area is an opportunity for a concentration of growth with an intentional emphasis on nature. In Atlanta, not everyone wants to live or work in the core of the city - outlying centers of culture, housing, business and shopping can offer opportunities for a mix of urban life and other amenities. These areas, like the Lindbergh Armour area, can allow for hybrid design strategies that combine compactness, walkability and transit with a more open, ecological plan and access to nature.
