LOVE OUR PLACES

Love Our Places is an initiative by the Department of City Planning aimed at reimagining Atlanta’s public realm through placemaking. Tactical urbanism is one of the tools of placemaking that uses low-cost, high-impact interventions as an instrument for residents and community organizations to create public spaces in their communities. Past projects range from artistic crosswalks to parking spaces redesigned as on-street dining.

2022 Creative bike parking

The Love Our Places program provided an opportunity for high-impact areas to have creative bike parking throughout Atlanta.

2021 parklets

To support public health guidelines for local food and beverage establishments while also creating vibrant streets, the City of Atlanta’s Love Our Places provided parklet structures to 16 businesses.
